Thomas K. Olson joined Coldwell Banker Commercial Almar Real Estate Group in October 2002 as a founding partner and principal. He was recognized as the No. 1 salesman in the Towne Centre office in 2003 and 2004. In 2005 he was recognized as the No. 1 salesman in the entire company and placed in the Top Five globally. In 2006 Tom was again the No. 1 salesman for the entire company. Olson also received the Industrial Deal of the Year award from the Commercial Real Estate Association of San Diego. As a senior vice president and principal, he is responsible for advising and assisting institutional and private investors with the development and implementation of strategies for the acquisition, leasing, value enhancement and disposition of investment grade real estate throughout the United States. Olson has extensive experience working with the legal community on the disposition of real estate under receivership and in bankruptcy. Olson began his commercial real estate career in 1974 and has closed well over 1,200 commercial real estate leasing and investment sales transactions, with total consideration exceeding $1 billion. Olson brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his position with Coldwell Banker Commercial. Previously, he was a senior vice president and senior marketing consultant with the San Diego office of Grubb & Ellis. Olson was responsible for the sales and leasing of all types of commercial real estate with a special emphasis on the leasing and sales of offices and medical office buildings. He was recognized as the Grubb & Ellis "Salesman of the Year" on three occasions and was further recognized as the "Office Building Salesman of the Year" at Grubb & Ellis on four separate occasions. From 1981 to 1995, Olson was president of Baldwin Moore Commercial Real Estate Services, a full-service boutique real estate operating and development company. As president, he oversaw and had primary responsibility for all development, leasing and sale brokerage activities, property management and partnership management activities. Under his leadership, Baldwin Moore successfully developed, managed and oversaw all leasing and tenant improvements for numerous office, apartment and retail projects. Olson served in the capacity of general partner, managing general partner and leasing and sales agent for various partnerships in numerous real estate ventures. Most recently, Olson worked with Wilson Thorn Properties based in San Diego and personally executed and managed the disposition of nearly $350 million in office, medical office, industrial and retail properties. Local clients include, among others, the M. Larry Lawrence Trust, the Fletcher Family and the Ray & Joan Kroc Trust. National clients include TIAA CREF, Credit Suisse First Boston and Pacific Life Insurance. Olson holds a bachelor's degree from United States International University and is active in the National Association of Industrial Office Parks (NAIOP), Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA) and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Alan Scott, CCIM, is co-founder, president and chief executive officer of Coldwell Banker Commercial Almar Real Estate Group Inc. (CBC Almar), a leading commercial brokerage real estate firm in San Diego. One of the region's most distinguished commercial real estate professionals, Scott's 40- year career includes executive positions with several leading brokerage firms and the completion of nearly $1 billion in transactions, including nationwide portfolios, net leased investments, multifamily, office, industrial and retail investment properties. Scott's entrepreneurial vision and forward-thinking leadership have played a key role in CBC Almar's fast rise to becoming Coldwell Banker Commercial's No. 1 affiliate in the nation for the last six consecutive years. CBC Almar's recent prestigious projects have included: ¥ CBC's Land Transaction of the Year and the SIOR Transaction of the Year: CBC Almar is exclusively engaged to arrange the sale of the more than 75-acre Queen's Seaport Development area in Long Beach, which includes the fabled, 72-year-old Queen Mary ocean liner. ¥ CBC Almar represented the seller in the $84.5 million deal for Villages of La Mesa in La Mesa, which consists of 384 luxury apartments to become condominiums. ¥ CBC's Industrial Transaction of the Year 2005: CBC Almar represented the buyer and seller in the $42.9 million sale of the Mark ll Business Park, a 239,000-square-foot, mixed-use industrial, office and retail tenant park on 16 acres in San Diego. Previously, Scott served as senior vice president and managing director of investment services for Wilson Mile High Corp. in San Diego. During his tenure there, he was involved in investment acquisition and disposition engagements totaling $165 million. Scott's prior experience includes serving as senior vice president and Western States director of institutional services for Grubb & Ellis Co., following a 20-year tenure with Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services in San Diego, where he was progressively promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer of the Capital Markets Group. Scott also spent several years with CB Investment Properties, a Coldwell Banker commercially owned entity, where he earned the title of vice president and regional marketing director, Western United States. Scott graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is a licensed real estate broker with the state of California, and holds a CCIM designation. He is currently an active member with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), the San Diego Apartment Rental Owner's Association, the National Apartment rental Owners' Association and the National Multi-Housing Council. |
