Archstone buys apartment on Camino del Rio South in Mission Valley

The 170-unit Oakwood Mission Valley apartment complex in Mission Valley at 425 Camino Del Rio South, San Diego 92108, has been sold for $28.6 million.

The buyer was ASN Mission Center LLC, c/o Archstone-Smith, 9200 E. Panorama Circle, Suite 400, Englewood, Colo., 80112.

As part of the transaction, the buyer assumed the balance of a November 1999 loan originally for $8.6 million.

The seller of the property (assessor's parcel 444-120-16) was South Mission Valley Associates, a California limited partnership with Tri-Sea Corp. as the general partner. Michael P. Drogin is vice president of Tri-Sea.

The buyer was represented by Lou Bulte with Coldwell Banker Commercial North County. The seller represented itself.

The apartment complex consists of 58 one-bedroom units and 112 two-bedroom, two-bath units on 8.04 acres.

Archstone, one of the largest apartment developers in the nation, has developed a number of apartment projects in San Diego County.

The most recent under construction is the 350-unit Archstone Presidio View in Mission Valley.

Other projects have been the 736-unit Archston Mission Valley, the recently completed 451-unit Archstone Pacific View in Carlsbad, and the 340-unit Archstone Torrey Hills between Rancho Penasquitos and Carmel Valley.

The Archstone Del Mar, a 232-unit apartment in Carmel Valley, was sold for $46.32 million in 2003.
